Revelry Brewing Co.

Revelry Brewing Co. opened in 2014 on Conroy Street and was one of the breweries that helped turn the upper peninsula into a beer destination. It sits in the NoMo (North Morrison) pocket of downtown Charleston, a short ride or a long walk from the historic district.

The draw here is the layout. A cozy downstairs tasting room handles the day-to-day, while the rooftop bar is the standout, giving you an open-air perch over the peninsula and a well-known spot to catch the sunset over the city skyline. Live music is a regular fixture on weekend afternoons.

The beer covers a wide range of styles, from approachable lagers and pale ales to more experimental small-batch releases. The flagship Gullah Cream Ale, brewed with grits sourced from a regional mill, ties the lineup to Lowcountry culinary traditions and has earned the brewery recognition. Other regular pours include the Lefty Loosey IPA and a Bavarian-style wheat.

There's an in-house kitchen from Toscano serving American bar fare made with Italian ingredients, so you can settle in without leaving for food. The patio is dog-friendly, and between the rooftop, the kitchen, and the steady weekend crowd, Revelry remains one of the most popular taprooms on the Charleston peninsula.
