Edmund's Original

Edmund's Original is the restaurant and brewpub that started the Edmund's Oast name, located on Morrison Drive on the upper peninsula. It opened in 2014 as Edmund's Oast and was recently rebranded as Edmund's Original. This is a separate venue from the larger Edmund's Oast Brewing Co. & Taproom on King Street, which is the company's production brewery; Edmund's Original is the sit-down dining destination where the concept began.

The food is the centerpiece here. The kitchen turns out an upscale take on American tavern fare with Lowcountry influence, including dishes like Salt Chicken and fried catfish, plus a popular weekend brunch. It has long been regarded as one of Charleston's top dining rooms.

The drink program matches the kitchen, with house-brewed beer, a deep curated beer list, cocktails, and wine. The brewpub setting keeps the small-batch brewing close to the dining experience.

Outdoors, you'll find The Bower, a courtyard shaded by live oaks with fire pits and discounted drinks on weekday afternoons. With its full restaurant, bar, and patio, Edmund's Original anchors the dining end of the downtown Charleston brewery scene, within easy reach of the peninsula's other taprooms.
