North Charleston · North Charleston, SC
Rusty Bull Brewing Co. is a bright, airy North Charleston brewery set along West Montague Avenue, just off I-26 and near the Park Circle district. Opened in 2017, it's one of the city's more family-oriented brewery destinations, with a full kitchen and an activity-packed setting that makes it easy to spend an afternoon.
The brewery grew out of an unlikely partnership between a former mechanic and a former pastor who bonded over a shared love of high-gravity Belgian ales. That Belgian and high-ABV leaning still runs through the brewing program, which spans a rotating range of styles for a broad crowd.
Food is a genuine focus here, with an on-site scratch kitchen anchored by the signature 3005 Burger, a double Angus stack named for the address, plus wings, Philly cheesesteaks, and sandwiches. It adds up to a true brewpub experience rather than a beer-only taproom.
Location is part of the appeal. Rusty Bull sits next door to a Chucktown Activities entertainment complex offering axe throwing, mini golf, and arcade games, and it's the closest brewery to Charleston International Airport, a convenient first or last stop for travelers. The kid-friendly, patio-equipped space makes it a versatile pick among North Charleston's breweries, especially for groups looking to combine craft beer with food and something to do.
