Ghost Monkey Brewery

Ghost Monkey Brewery is a whimsically named craft brewery now operating inside Striped Pig Distillery's North Charleston complex on Old School Drive. Originally founded in 2016, Ghost Monkey closed its longtime Mount Pleasant taproom in April 2024 and relocated to the distillery campus, where its beers are now poured from the on-site "Beer Alley" bar.

The move pairs Ghost Monkey's beer with Striped Pig's spirits under one roof. You'll find around nine Ghost Monkey taps available alongside the distillery's spirits and cocktails, a combination that lets visitors sample craft beer and locally made liquor in the same visit. The two operations have history together, having collaborated on a barrel-aged release built from a Ghost Monkey beer aged in Striped Pig barrels.

Ghost Monkey's beer lineup leans playful, with past offerings carrying names like Banananana Hammock. The brewery has earned local recognition for its beer, reflecting a following it carried over from its earlier days across the harbor.

There's no permanent in-house kitchen, so food comes from rotating food trucks, and outdoor seating is part of the experience on the distillery grounds. Hours are limited compared to larger taprooms, generally running Wednesday through Saturday, so it's worth checking ahead before a visit. For beer drinkers exploring North Charleston, the Striped Pig complex offers a two-in-one stop where Ghost Monkey's craft brewing shares space with one of the area's established distilleries.
